Slings Myofascial Training Movement Session | NECK & SHOULDERS | Fremantle | OCTOBER 2021
LOCATION: Anatomy Trains AU @ 5 Norfolk Street FREMANTLE
Join me, Annelise Remigio, certified Slings Myofascial Trainer and Anatomy in Motion practitioner to help free your neck and shoulder tension with this Myofascial Mobility Masterclass.
Stress, tech devices, poor working postures and generally lack of movement all contribute to tension around the neck and shoulders. The shoulders especially tend to work harder than they need to when there are compensation patterns in the body, and therefore pain can result due to a build-up of tension in this area.
This session provides the opportunity to relive tension and tightness around the neck and shoulders while optimising your movement biomechanics.
Of course this part of your upper body is connected to the rest of your body, so whole body support (via the skeleton and fascial system) for your neck and shoulders is key to preventing tension returning.
This session is complete with movements and massage techniques to mobilise the neck and shoulders while improving support from below.
Creating adaptable movement within our body’s complex network of muscles and tissues (myofascia) can help alleviate neck and shoulder tension. Neck and shoulder tension can be both caused by, and contribute to, mental stress, physical tension, poor sleep quality and a myriad of implications that a reduced window of tolerance to stress entail. Improving shoulder mechanics expands your breathing (and life!) potential.
My background in the biomechanics of gate (how we walk), postural balance from a myofascial perspective (how we sit, stand, breathe and move), as well as my own health journey of learning how to alleviate tension and inflammation in the body, have taught me how to hold the body upright with ease in full health.
These sessions combine up-to-date science, functional anatomy and myofascial training techniques to bring a ‘cerebral’ movement experience. The training integrates bouncing and dynamic movements along with slow and focused sequences whilst incorporating fascial stimulation with props like spikey balls. Contrasting sequences both heighten sensory awareness
and proprioception (helping balance, among other things) and nourish fascia to create resilient, strong and lean lines throughout the body.
The ultimate goal of this masterclass is for you to achieve a greater awareness of functional anatomy to help break old habits around creating ‘unnecessary’ tension in your neck and shoulders.
All fitness levels, physical trainers, manual and movement health professionals are encouraged to join and gain relief from tension as well as sustainable take-home tools to stop it coming back in the long term.
