PHILOSOPHY
I believe nobody needs to live in constant pain, or be limited in achieving their potential due to physical restrictions.
To be resilient and adaptable to what life throws at us (and our bodies) we need sustainable movement: movement that nourishes, not ages us. Exercise is one thing - it feels good and keeps us “fit”. But movement encapsulates so much more by honouring the many ways our bodies were designed to move and interact with the world around us. |
|
We are integrated beings and our lifestyle as a whole affects our physical bodies. Like a tree’s growth responds to forces in the wind, we are shaped by our environments, whether that be how we move (or don’t move), as well as our relationships, nutrition, and everything else we are exposed to over a lifetime.
Our bodies are incredible machines designed with the ability to achieve great feats. So long as we respect ourselves and those around us, listen to what our bodies are telling us and use our resources wisely we will thrive.
From tuning into the subtleties of how the breath affects the way we move, to challenging movements that “wake up” forgotten parts of the body, movement heightens our awareness and expands our sense of who we are in the world and how we respond to it.
Making movement - not simply exercise - a part of what you do everyday will energise your body and mind making you both resilient and adaptable.

Via application of a movement concept that honours the mind-body connection I was able to minimise pain and discomfort in my body, hence avoiding further medical intervention.
Being highly competitive and not being able to move much while I was injured, greatly challenged me both mentally & physically. Meditation and focusing on what I could do helped me on my road to recovery and also help ground me today again in a highly active lifestyle. My wellbeing was further enhanced via discovery of a holistic health model to support my personal body and brain.
I now assist others to create positive change in their bodies through the application of movement training and breathing techniques, specialised genetic health profiling via individual coaching, movement classes and custom health & wellness workshops. Seeing my clients experience the newfound freedom of unrestricted movement in their bodies and clearer minds is inspiring. I look forward to helping you achieve the same.

PERSONAL MOVEMENT INSPIRATION
Movement Culture (Ido Portal) Feb16 A contemporary paradigm shift in physicality, moving us away from main culprits in movement and fitness as well as the separation between health, aesthetics, performance & art Ido defines a mover as “someone who sees beyond the technicalities of each movement pursuit or discipline. Someone who finds interest and wishes to understand the body, health, performance and physical artistic expression.” Having been taught by the man himself a few years ago when he came to Perth I was captivated that his teachings were as much about philosophy as they were how to move well. Ido’s philosophy is to move well with exploration, discovery, challenge, beauty (felt) and expressiveness. |
