MOVEMENT ONLINE

Daily practice is essential to replace long standing patterns with new healthy ones.

There is no expiration date on injuries if you ignore them. Most aches & pains are a result of accumulation. Adopting postures of which we may be unaware are constantly working to shape our fascial body.

Contact us to access our online video library of self-massage and myofascial movement to promote wholebody ease.

Including, daily Self-Massage

Your online movement access includes our Self-Massage Series which guides you through myofascial massage* to nourish your tissues and allow you to 'tune in' and 'work in', helping to alleviate long-held patterns of tension.

Each video targets a different part of the body so you can find ease in common areas of tension like neck, shoulders, lower back and hips.

Myofascial massage will fast-track your daily practice to promote the following benefits:
Increased blood flow - by increasing vascular function in the body
  • Reduced muscle soreness - Increased blood flow results in a better circulation of blood in the muscles which aides in reducing muscle soreness
  • Reduced tension - promote hydration and glide of your fascial (connective) tissue and 'unstick' stuck places, like the lower back
  • Improved lymph movement - an important part of your body's immune system. Regular multi-directional movement ensures that the immune system can fight off diseases and infections
  • Re-activate sleepy muscles - stimulating sensory receptors in fascial tissue improved functionality of, and communication between areas of the body

INSPIRATION & ACCREDITATION

Fascial Movement© (Karin Gurtner)  Aug 2016-19
Our environment shapes our fascial body and this can be positively influenced with movement

‘Slings’ refer to the continuous elastic lines of muscle and connective tissue (fascia) that run from head to toe in different planes (front, back, deep & superficial) of the body.

These lines of positive tension contribute to postural balance, movement efficiency and sensory awareness and are ‘essential elastic catapults that propel us forward’. The lines were discovered in human dissection and were aptly termed Anatomy Trains by Thomas Myers.

By understanding which muscles and fascia form a continuous sling and how each sling affects the others, we can work by way of “peeling an onion” to reveal the underlying cause of postural dis-ease or movement restrictions.

Ultimately we can improve the support that each Sling provides to achieve body wide dynamic stability, or the support from within that enables you to move (without pain) however you like to! By promoting the fascial qualities of muscular glide, elastic recoil and adaptability (to name a few), athletic performance and recovery can be significantly improved.
